Now when I try to run the script it returns an error of:

Msg 4405, Level 16, State 1, Server MYSERVER, Procedure usp_CreateSomething, Line 25
View or function 'dbo.SomeView' is not updatable because the modification affects multiple base tables.

This is because the store procedure is using a view which has a trigger on it. The view is created before the store procedure (which is correct) but the trigger on the view is created much later than the store procedure. I had to cut and paste the store procedure and put it after the creation of the view trigger to get the script to function properly.

Is there another work around or fix for this as I am trying to automate the process of the script?

Thanks for any help in advance.

New Post: Errors pointing to browser to run runsql file

Hellllllp somebody...
My workaround, thank good ness worked.
Here's what I did:

> Created the database in GoDaddy.
> Using the DB Publishing Wizard, I selected the option to create a script instead of publishing it directly to GoDaddy.
> Logged in to my database in GoDaddy and using the query analyzer, ran the script that I had created from the previous step.

Hopefully that helps some of you all who are still having problems.

Jeremyk’s experience is very insightful, but in my case
I can run Database Publishing Wizard from Visual Web Developer 2005 Express
Edition, but after I paste the script file that it creates in Godaddy database,
I publish the rest of the site and it does not work. It means you cannot have
access to the protected pages. It gives an error when you try to log in or try
to create a new user.

But now I believe that I am making a mistake.

Thanks,

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 2)

Can anyone help me to fix this problem?
I would appreciate very much your help.
You said you had a work around on publishing MDF with Godaddy.

Could you please explain more like what setup u talking about (godadddy database section?), step-by-step explanation would be nice.

I'm a newbie to aspx and godaddy as well, so hope you dont mind if i'm asking too much.

Thanks

Once I created the structure for the data, I used the Right Click, Tasks, Import to import all of the data in the table. It worked but not flawlessly. It didn't import the Primary Keys as their number. It imported them incrementally which screwed up all of the relational data. Oh well. So eventually, instead of generating the scripts, I imported the entire database. This option leaves out primary keys, triggers, constraints, auto-increment fields, etc. So I had to go in and manually add all of those things.

I tell you what, it would be a hell of a lot easier if they would just let you upload the .mdb file and attach it. It would have saved days worth of work.

New Post: Internal error during begin publish

I am using SQL Server 2005 Developer edition. I am able to make a connection to the database from SLQ Server Management Studio, but before I could I had to move my database to a different server at GoDaddy. Developer Edition is only 50 bucks and so well worth it for the features you don't get in the Express edition. However, I was previously using 2008 Express and I dearly miss IntelliSense and may upgrade to 2008 Developer Edition of SQL to get it.

Anyway, I gave up on the database publishing wizzard after GoDaddy's response to my support quesion was completely worthless. However I must say that I have been with GoDaddy for several years and am pretty happy with them.

So here is what I have done so far...

Connected to my database (mydatabase.db.2548868.hostedresource.com) remotely from MSSMS.

Right-clicked on mydatabase in Object Explorer and selected Tasks>Generate Scripts..., went throught the Script Wizard and it produced a nice script for me in the query window. Alternatively I could have saved the script to a file or to the clipboard.

Thats it...It made a beautiful script that I then ran against my existing database through the remote connection.

Now I will look into the best way of getting my data uploaded.

Oh and Happy New Year to everyone! I hope the world can get along better this year.

The publishing wizard server isn't connecting to the database. The work-around I came up with is during the setup. There is a new option in the databases that allows your database to be connected to from outside resources. I was able to connect my version of SQL Server Management Studio. The Express version can connect and can run scripts, but unfortunately, it cannot do imports/exports. This is because the import/export feature is available in the developer, standard and enterprise editions. I didn't want to wait for GoDaddy to fix it again because it took so long last time.
Does anyone know why this would be happening? Also, if I exclude this table from the publish (un-tick it), the "MS Database Publishing Wizard" still tries to upload it and the same error has been occuring.
I am using the pre compiled install
and using default settings. Is there an easy way to not use SSL? this is going to be on an internal servers going through a dedicated point to point to my hosted servers.
